A few weeks ago we set our overarching goal:
Through activities, encouragement, and education we will promote that our residents get involved with their floor or an organization, club, job, committee, or sport on campus in order to have 80% be able to identify the specific connection that they have made to the University through a survey distributed in the last two weeks of the semester.
But a goal is just a bunch of words until you set steps to how you will reach it. SO...this week I need each of you to list a minimum of 3 steps that you're willing to take in order to reach our goal.
REMEMBER that these steps should be SPECIFIC things that you're going to do. I don't want to hear a bunch of word fluff!

Here is what I'll be doing:
1. Ask each resident I meet with for conduct if they have gotten involved on their floor or an organization, club, job, committee, sport, etc on campus.
2. When responding to residents who have turned in a Stout Experience conduct sanction paper, I will provide them with ideas/ways for them to get involved on campus.
3. Administer a mid-semester survey the week after Spring Break to assess the percentage of our residents are involved in some way on campus and share the results with staff.
1. I have started asking students if they plan on getting involved this semester, if they say no, I explain to them that it is important for them to look into it and ask them what their interests are.
2. I invite students to different service projects with me and Alpha Phi Omega, utilizing resources I already have.
3. Conduct a check-in survey in April to see where people are at in their involvement.
1.When I talk with residents on outreach, I will work into the conversation if they are involved on campus anywhere.
2.I will continue to shoulder tap people that I think would fit well in certain organizations/jobs on campus.
3.I will promote meetings, events, and organizations, on my floor that I recommend through use of “Adamme’s Pick” signs.
1. i will try to get a rough estimate of how many of residents are involved in organizations so i know how much improvement i personally made
2. invite residents to some of the organizations i am involved in (IDSA, FAA, Motorcycle club, Auto club)
3. during my meetings i will provide information to students on what organizations are meeting when and what they are doing.
1. When I am leaving to go to an organization that I am a member of I will try to bring residents with that I believe would benefit from that organization.
2. Organize an event where I will have a representative from each of the art related organizations present what each organization does and answer questions.
3. While meeting with students for jump starts I will help them determine organizations they could get involved with.
1. Find out at my "revisiting floor expectations" meeting how many of my residents are involved in an organization, club, job, group, or sport to get a general idea of the involvement of my floor to UW Stout
2. Talk to residents who are not involved in anything on campus and encourage them to join something. Explain to them the benefits that can come out of getting involved on campus and make sure they have the resources they need to join activities or at least get more information about them.
3. Follow up with a survey to see if the involvement of my floor to UW Stout organizations has increased.
1. When I hear residents talking about activities and events they are interested in I will tell them about organizations, teams, jobs, etc. that could be a good fit for them. Or tell them to start one up if not already available.
2. I will have one floor event/meeting to promote the different things to do get involved with on campus.
3. Talk to residents already involved in something on campus and have them help answer questions and get other people involved.
1. I have been talking with my floor about the communities which they are a part of. For those who are lacking or finding it difficult to answer, I will find a group or org which they could be possibly interested in and suggest it to them.
2.I will follow up with those who I make suggestions to, and assist them with any contacts that they may need.
3.I have been getting my guys interested in inter-mural tournaments, and all ready have 50% of the floor involved on teams. I will continue to push both inter-murals, and other activities especially this spring when outdoor activities become more available to us.
I will try to get more of my residents to come to HEC Meeting more often.
I will set up buletin boards throughout the semester focusing on getting involved on campus.
The residents on my floor that are not already involved on camput i hope to try to find something for them to get involved in.
Thanks everyone for your commitments!
