Hi everyone...I hope that all of you have enjoyed your summer and are excited to be getting back on campus. I'm SUPER EXCITED to have you all coming back over the upcoming days...it's a bit quiet around here without you.
A large part of being a successful staff has to do with communication, specially in feeling comfortable sharing information with one another and doing so in an approperiate manner. For that reason and a few others we'll talk about during training, we have a staff blog that we'll be using throughout the year. Sorry if this random request was confusing to you!
If you're ready...you can start this bloggin adventure by posting a List of Highlights from your summer...it can be funny, interesting, silly, disgusting, scary, etc. If you need a little help, check out my comments by clicking on the word Comments at the bottom of this entry.
Happy blogging and I'll see you all soon!
Take care & safe travels.
KELLY

It shouldn't be shocking to any of you that I have only one summer highlight...becoming a mom! Which is something that I've always wanted to be when I grew up! Adeline is a wonderful and is becoming more and more interactive each day. I can't wait for you all to meet her!
My Summer Highlights List!
-Worked all summer for Camps and Conferences on campus; 40hours a week in humidity is NASTY! :) but it was great to have a job!
-Went home for the parents' 4th Anniversary....jammed at SummerFest to the B-52s!
-Traveled to the cities in June for Membership Academy; taking another step in my leadership career.
-Ventured to DeKalb, IL to attend a presentation and facilitation skills training for APO, became a presenter for one of our 5 Leadership courses! :) 1 of a few undergrads nationwide!
-Finally moved into MC!
I have very few summer highlights as Valleyfair ran my life for the last three months but there were a few!
-I got to take my youngest sister Rachel's senior pics one day. We went to Minnehaha Falls and the Como Zoo conservatory.
-I went to the Gay 90's several times, one being over Pride weekend and I got to see one of my friends perform
-I went on my annual end of summer camping trip with all my friends at Wild River State Park.
-I made it up to my cabin for day which was awesome! I would like to have been up there more but it didn't fit with my work schedule :(
-And finally the best part of summer...My last day at Valleyfair and then moving back into MC!!
My summer was pretty fun got to try some new things and continue some hobbies. Some of the more exciting things that you might want to read about might be;
- sky diving
- stunt riding
- drift league
- LOTS AND LOTS of concerts
- camping/ back packing/ hiking
- painting wall murals for a custom painting company all summer
My summer highlights!
• I went to Michigan over the summer for a mini vacation.
• I finally got our jet ski out on the water for a couple of days this summer.
• I went up north with my cousin and went on a 4 wheeler trip with him.
• I did a little fishing over the summer.
• I went to brush run In Crandon with my old roommate.
These are just a few of the fun things I did over the summer at this point in time I can’t really think of any more.
This summer I was able to take a trip to Michigan. I saw one of my first friends ever. It had been over 13 years since the last time we had hung out. It was absolutely amazing, felt like we had been around each other our entire lives.
Another highlight was going to a baseball game. Milwaukee vs. San Diego. It was a win win for me. My birthplace against the place I currently live. Obviously I rooted for the Brewers. And they won. It was an overall amazing day.
Summer Highlights...
Work work and more work... but got to spend some quality time with my triplet sisters! Those were the best times this summer!
Also got to meet Miranda Lambert in June! At moondance jammin country! And I also got the chance to see one of my favorite artist there as well! KELLIE PICKLER!
Other than that it was along boring summer...
I had an awesome summer though it flew by a little too quickly. I lived in Menomonie over the summer and worked for Housing Design as a Graphic Designer. It was the best summer job ever, greatly defeating my previous summer job at Festival Foods in Eau Claire.
In addition I traveled with my parents to visit my older brother in Maryland where he worked at Indian Head Naval Base doing explosives research. Plenty of photo ops where available to me throughout the trip :)
I thought I already commented on this post, but I guess not.
I didn't do anything particularly amazing this summer. It was kind of boring and not as eventful as I'd of liked.
Due to the lack of money to pay me with I wasn't able to do tech work for my high school this summer which was a huge blow to me. I had to rock back out at Subway, which was ...meh. I also worked on call for a binding company which was kind of cool
I took a few family/kind of family trips to Tennessee and Indiana, did some camping in Wisconsin and lake rocking in Minnesota. I was only able to water ski once this summer, but it was better than none. I love to ski! Other than that I played a lot of League of Legends (online computer game) and watched a lot of television series online.
Thanks everyone for sharing!
