What inspires you, and/or what keeps you motivated and why?

I'm inspired by what I'm most interested in and I'm motivated by graduating and being able to pursue a career in something I love. The idea of historic preservation and preservation/restoration of old homes really shows how I'm narrowing my search and figuring out what I want to do and who I want to effect in my life.

I'm inspired by the future; where and who I want to become. I've always been a very organized person...a planner, so I like to know what I'm doing and where I'm going way before I'm even there. The idea of having an idea of who I want to become makes it a lot easier for me to focus and stay determined in what I do. Even though I may be exhausted or completely stressed out, I know that if I keep chugging along and "keep at it," that I will end up where I want to be.

I am motivated by my family and friends. My family immigrated from Thailand after Vietnam. My father and mother faced racism and misunderstanding. I was born in America. Given the opportunity to just be here by chance and will of my grandfather and my grandmother, I have the obligation to become who I want. Not very many people know who we are or what my people did during the war. Being here is a blessing. I look forward to being in my career and giving back to the community and perhaps one day make a difference in the world as a detective/international police.

I have friends who I've lost touch with and I've had friends who I know I will never see again but I also know I'm doing this for them. Sometimes I wonder where they would be, perhaps that last second could have changed the outcome. I guess we all learn and accept it as it comes.

My inspiration is incredibly similar to Taylors! The future, its vast an unknown, and needs to be planned for. A lot of why I'm in college is related to how I'm looking at myself progress through life, as well as which direction I want to go. Other big factors are my parents/family, as well as fellow artists and ID peoples. Keeping me motivated is pretty difficult, but this grouping of peoples tends to do it for me.

I am motivated by my friend Dave, I used to mountain bike race with Dave. College time came around for both of us, and I went on to school and he joined the Air Force. We had always talked about how cool it would be to keep racing and go pro and all of that, but never really set our plans into action, other than talking to sponsors to see how feasible it was to grab some sponsors and keep racing. Well, Dave made his dream come true. Joining into the air force, he applied to be on their cycling team and is now doing that full time, traveling all over the US and soon Europe racing with some of our heroes from when we raced. It's a weird combination of me being proud of him, jealous, and inspired. haha. Every time I go on facebook, I see some post from him about their training, or who he's riding with and always ending with "Motivated!" as that's become his catchphrase. So whenever things get tough I think of how he did it, and how I certainly can try and work for what I want too.

There are a few things that motivate me. The biggest motivation for me though is my dad. My dad has always been my best friend and my biggest supporter, and in everything I do I always think "what will Dad think about this when he hears about it?". He has been able to keep me doing the right thing for years, and he's the one that encouraged me to change my major as a freshman to something that I'm now completely in love with. What he's done with his life also inspires me in my own. As a police officer, he experienced many things that would make most people bitter, cynical, and all around mean. But he still loves people and has no bad feelings toward anyone he meets. This really inspires me to just go with the flow...it has helped me develop my attitude of not caring what other people think of me, say about me, whatever. I have him to thank for who I am and how far I've come in my life.

What motivates me is my future as well. Having an education is key to succeed in the world. A few years ago, when I wasn't so motivated my dad told me a quote that has since stuck with me, he said "Never accept mediocrity. It defines who you are as a person, how you go about life, your work ethic, and the view you have on life." After analyzing that quote, I realized how much truth it holds. Just like everyone else, I have big dreams and the top rung of the ladder in my sites. Doing just what's required, and only what you are expected to do, will never get you to your dreams. Determination, ambition, and a dream are what gets you to where you want to be. You work hard for what you want, and you play hard with what you get; work hard, play hard. That, is what motivates me, and that's how I live my life.
