Favorite Quote

Please share your favorite quote, and provide an explanation as to why it is your favorite quote. Comment on at least one other person's quote and say one thing you like about it.

I like this quote because it's how I live my life. The actions and words of people I encounter end up fading away and I don't remember specifics but the feelings I experienced when with those people will stick with me.

You may have seen this on my email or facebook. This quote is especially important to me because Jimi Hendrix has been a great musical influence in my. In essence it's saying if everyone could chill out once ina while the world would be a better place, and i couldn't agree more.

I love this quote because I would like to think that I don't just sit around and wait for things to come my way.

Kesley, I like yours because it is a very true statement. Almost hard cold fact. Some of my strongest memories are the way someone made me feel, although I normally can't remember why I felt that way specifically.

I don't think I have a favorite quote. I have a 67 page Word document filled with my favorite movie/song/people quotes.
This is one of my favorites and is also my favorite song.

I love this song because it encourages you to be your own person no matter what other people do or say, no matter if you have to be alone to be you, never surrender to how other people think you should be.

Kollin: I like your quote, but I think it's deeper than just chill out once in a while. I like the aspect of people working to benefit each other and the world as a whole rather than focusing on themselves.

Robyn: Your quote is interesting too. I haven't seen that movie, but I like the quote. It shows how if you let it,the world will just pass you by and you can be a nobody, it won't care. If you want to make something of yourself and accomplish something in your life you have to push yourself and do it because no one else is going to.

My favorite quote is "Everything happenes for a reason". I like this quote because i think of this when im upset and it helps me relax.

I feel that when someone discovers their true passion they so much more driven to achieve. It is this passion that has helped the world progress forward through new innovations. People get passionate and enthusiastic over all sorts of things and it is this variety that has really transformed the world into what we see today. This quote does an awesome job of summarizing this into four words.

Adamme your quote is quite epic. I definitely agree with your interpretation. It makes you feel good to be your own unique person.

I choose this one becasue it is what my mom tells me time and time again. It has touched my life because she is my best friend and has influenced the way I live life. She alwasy gives me the extra push to make life better!

I have 2 quotes actually, after reading Eat, Pray, Love I got onto this kick of quotes and self growth/finding.

The first quote is:

"Never apologize for showing feeling. when you do so, you apologize for the truth."

The second quote is:

"Let the world know you as you are, not as you think you should be, because sooner or later, if you are posing, you will forget the pose and then where are you?"
-Fanny Brice

The first quote for me is really significant because I am a firm believer that you need to speak the truth and that when you express feelings you should never apologize. Feelings are very important in communication and one should never apologize for feeling a certain way.

The second quote is also very important to me and something that I remind myself every day. Basically I don't believe that you should put on a front for anyone; those that are true friends will understand you and accept you 100% and if you choose to pose and fake it, sooner or later (like the quote says) you are going to forget who you were trying to be and end up lost.

Craig, I love your quote! One because it's Winnie the Pooh (too cute) and two it has a very positive and optimistic message that I think everyone should live by. And it also talks of that one person in someone's life who is always there to support and encourage them, no matter what the circumstance or obstacles... I just love it!

I have loved this quote since high school because it emphasizes that you are the only person that truly knows yourself. Which I feel is strong ammunition against the trials and tribulations of high school drama.

Adamme...it doesn't surprise me that you have a word document with all your favorite quotes...I now understand how you're able to quote things so often.

Kelsey...I think that your quote is a wonderful one to live by and easily related to our work with students. I think that if everyone working with students just kept this in the back of their minds in sticky situations, we have much less drama!
