Quotes

This one is real simple…give us your favorite inspirational quote and tell why it is and/or if it has inspired you to do anything great or changed your outlook on something. Comment on other posts if you want but be nice. :)

I have two:

"Life is a garden, dig it!" ~ Joe Dirt

I have chosen this quote because it makes me laugh It also reminds me to cool it and enjoy everything around me. It is hard to stop and smell the roses sometimes, especially at this point in my life with so much going on. It is comforting. I also always remember pieces of the movie and it's ridiculous story and characters.

"Go Team" ~ not sure, I may have heard it somewhere or just started saying it.

I have chosen this quote because I live by it everyday when I am around people. I believe teams are amazing things and they should be utilized (correctly). I also love hanging around people and no matter what in a team I am surrounded. :)

This is a quote by Tony Dungy. He is a christian, black, former NFL coach. He told his players every week the quote I posted. He was quite the pioneer in the NFL, being the first black coach and first open christian coach. In his book, "Quite Strength", he writes about people constantly trying to persuade him to abandon his beliefs, like who is was wasn't the right thing. That is why he always tells his players to be themselves and not follow suit.

I really like this quote it just is so simple and so true. I take it to heart in a lot that I do expecialy in football.

My words to live buy! just like to keep things simple and dont get to worked up buy things that are not reall a big deal. Just go with it.

i really like this quote because i think it can apply to every area of life... in the search for truth and faith, for inspiration and for art. We so often go looking for something greater than what we have but the truth is we just arent seeing clearly.

This is a quote that I have loved since high school. I love it because I interprete it as meaning that only through knowing and understanding your true self will you be content and happy.

I don't know if it's my favorite, but I do like it. It's very true; it's easier to defend something when it's being attacked than it is to maintain it everyday.

That's a very valid point to me. It makes me think of 'where is my heart?' because where i put my heart is where my treasure will be. Am I giving my heart to worldly things like money & 'fame' or am I taking the time for what really matters; for people & to encourage and grow relationships that have been trusted to me. When I'm gone, will people be more affected by how i lived my life, or what i achieved in my life.

I love all these quotes because they are all from very accomplished people and they urge me to live my life like a man and take responsibility for my actions and learn from them. The first Brett Favre quote probably has made the greatest impact on me as a person. I want to make smart decisions, and be influential to future generations, not be a screw up and get in trouble all the time,(I used to get in a lot of trouble). The Teddy Roosevelt quote is also a great one because it shows that those why try and fail are inevitably better than those who do nothing, people who do nothing simply open their mouths and reitterate that they are critics a.k.a. fools. That's why I learned that I can't let what other people say bother me or alter what I believe in.

I like both of these quotes because of their focus on service to others. I think that it is very important to be selfless toto others.

I really enjoy this quote because it is like a motivation to me to always do better and give your best at all times. It might not seem like one person can change much or anything but relating it to the starfish story, it makes a difference to one and that one is worth a whole lot. So I am striving to change for the good and this quote says it.

This is a long quote! But it sure says a lot at the same time. Going along with the first one and just in general having a positive impact. I like to make positive impacts in my life and so this is what I live by and it has worked so far.
